"This morning I signed amendments to the Constitution, as five days term passed, and in fact, with this signature and transfer to the President we have launched a large-scale judicial reform, which entails the removal of immunity of judges, elimination of political influence, a major renewal of judge corps and anti-corruption protections" - Parubii said. At this he said, that he can not sign the new law on judicial system and status of judges "until Parliament would not consider the draft of registered decree on cancelling of the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on adoption of this law."
Also, Parubii said that the Head of State submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a presentation of new composition of the Central Election Committee. He reminded that "the debate on CEC lasted very long, and each faction of the Parliament put forward their candidates, recommended them to the President, and it is his right to decide on the nominees."
Answering journalists'
questions, Parubii said that he sees no preconditions for voting the draft law on
amending the Constitution on decentralization. "These changes have become
hostages including the Minsk agreements. The fact that the aggressor daily and
nightly is attacking our positions, effectively tearing the Minsk agreement,
put barriers to making decisions on the Constitution in so far as relevant decentralization ", -
he said.
Parubii has emphasized the importance of the adoption of the next plenary week package of draft laws for cooperation with the IMF, the draft law regarding quotas on Ukrainian songs, composition of CEC and other important issues. "The next plenary week will be very intensive, there will be big ambitious plans, but I think we can reach a joint decision", - the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said.
