Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii on Thursday attended the Fifth National Prayer Breakfast at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv.

Chaiman of the Verkhovna Rada, opening the annual prayer breakfast, said: "I am pleased that the Ukrainian tradition of prayer breakfast every year gathers more and more followers. This tradition exists in more than one hundred countries and it is important that Ukraine is gaining momentum."

Parubii noted that it is important that "not only politicians but also the leaders of all religious communities are being involved to this tradition, and Ukraine, especially in the war, shows religious unity." Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked all religious communities for this unity, which "should be demonstrated in this hard time for Ukraine."

He stressed that the cooperation of religious organizations in Ukraine is a very good sign.

In particular, he noted the efforts of members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches who organized on this Saturday the procession, dedicated to protection of children and families. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also informed that he planned meeting with the Ukrainian Council of Churches.

Parubii also thanked heads of churches and religious organizations for spiritual and humanitarian support to our soldiers who defend in the east of Ukraine Ukrainian independence and help for immigrants.

"I want to assure you as a Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, we will not allow to Russian agents of influence to destroy an interdenominational unity which is now in Ukraine", - said Andrii Parubii." On a top of challenges we appreciate our spiritual and political unity ", - said Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

Parubii reminded that after the prayer breakfast there is expected to vote on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine in the judiciary and the judicial system. "This is very symbolic that today's prayer breakfast is being held on a day which is important for Ukraine, when we have a chance to complete the judicial reform, when we have a chance to give our citizens justice. And let our common prayer, our appeal to God will give us strength and wisdom to this day."
