On Thursday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii met with Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine Kestutis Lancinskas.

The Parties discussed the reformation of the law enforcement system in Ukraine.

Andrii Parubii noted that the issue of reformation of the law enforcement system in Ukraine is one of top-priority issues for the country. He said that a number of important steps had been taken in that direction in particular, the National Police had been reformed.

Parubii noted that the cooperation with the structures of the European Union in this field would help Ukraine reform the law enforcement system.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said that in conditions of the war, the concerned parties have to take in consideration not only military but also informational elements. Parubii reminded: "This war is a hybrid war. It's elements are already being studied in the NATO countries."

In turn, Head of the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine Kestutis Lancinskas noted the readiness of the Mission to cooperate with the law enforcement bodies and the Parliament in issues of intensification of the reformation of law enforcement system. He also said that Ukraine is provided with and will be provided with the assistance in the field of security.

Kestutis Lancinskas informed that over a year of the Mission's stay in Ukraine, clear proposals on the reformation of the National Police were offered, in particular, in maintaining order dynamics peaceful gatherings. He said that as far as the capital of Ukraine is always a place for mass gatherings of people, there is a need to provide security of both the citizens and law enforcement officers.

Parubii noted that Verkhovna Rada Committees were ready to cooperation. "Our joint work will be fruitful," he added.
