Dear Jamala!

I sincerely congratulate You and Your team on the victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.

Jamala, You have made the dream of millions of Ukrainians come true — next Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Ukraine in 2017. It would be great to have an opportunity to hold this contest in Your motherland — free Crimea.

You did not only reminded the whole world about the tragedy of the Crimean Tatar people that took place in 1944, but also drew attention to current situation in the occupied Crimea.

The pain of sufferings of the Crimean Tatar people You sing about is familiar to many families-victims of the totalitarian regimes, repressions and relocation. We sympathize with You.

It is very symbolic that Your victory took place on May 15 when the Ukrainians mark Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions, and on the eve of May 18, when we will mark Day of Remembrance for the victims of Crimean Tatar genocide.

Another symbolic fact was that a Crimean Tatar, whose family was a victim of the deportation, the singer who represented Ukraine at the international contest, won the representative of the aggressor country [the Russian Federation] in the final of the contest. I call it justice.

In conditions of Russia's aggression, in the times of Crimea and Donbas' occupation, You did much more than hundreds of diplomats and politicians. With Your victory, You once again drew attention of the whole world to the situation the Crimean Tatars are facing now, to current situation in the Russia-annexed Crimea.

You told everyone that we will win the aggressor as the truth is with us.

We will surely return to Crimea. We'll return there forever and no imperialist will be able to grab Crimea back as Crimea is Ukraine.
