Within the framework of a meeting with experts organized by the Reanimation Package of Reforms non-government organization on Friday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii said that since the Euromaidan events on Maidan Nezalezhnosti square in Kyiv much has been done at the state level "however, it was not enough."

According to Parubii, the Ukrainian society is insufficiently informed about the course of reforms in Ukraine, which entails distrust in the authorities and disorientation. "The fact that the society is not aware of many of our achievements is one of the major problems of the incumbent Ukrainian authorities. That entails distrust in the officials and disorients the society," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said. Parubii expressed confidence that "if the society is mobilized, has belief and willingness to change, real success comes, real reforms and change do take place."

At that the Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament promised that "the country will be reformed in close cooperation with experts." He noted that the internal reform of the Ukrainian Parliament and the issue of introduction of the visa-free regime had been discussed along with different experts. According to Parubii respective workgroup included representatives of the Ukrainian Government and Presidential Administration.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted that all branches of power openly work on reforms and bear joint responsibility for their implementation. "I believe that all of us must act jointly and be united. The majority of Ukrainian officials do want real changes. We have to keep unity between representatives of all branches of power and experts. I do believe that the success is in public and open discussion of existing initiatives. I call it cooperation and mutual understanding," Parubii said. At the same time, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada called on representatives of the coalition, opposition, experts and representatives of non-government organizations to be a single united team to protect Ukraine's interests.

"There is one national team of Ukraine aiming to achieve Ukraine's victory," Parubii said. He also noted: "Politics must be replaced with state-oriented way of thinking to let Ukraine succeed."

The participants in the meeting discussed the reformation of the judicial system, amendments to the Verkhovna Rada Regulations, improvement of the draft law registration procedure, optimization of consideration of draft laws at the parliamentary committees, participation of people's deputies of Ukraine in the process of lawmaking, budget process.

At the end of the meeting, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii called on experts to intensify their work basing on principles of good citizenship to turn Ukraine into a successful and really sovereign country.
