THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5
First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Adam Martyniuk briefed on the results of work of the Verkhovna Rada at the plenary meetings on October 4.
The People´s Deputies presented their announcements, proposals, and appeals.
Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Oleksandr Riabchenko presented the bill on Ratification of the Protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on Amendments to the Treaty between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on Mutual Recognition of Rights and Regulation of Ownership Relationships of 11 August 1994.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the protocol by 279 votes.
The parliament also ratified the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Mutual Protection of Information with Restricted Access.
The bill on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re humanization of responsibility for infringements in the economic sector) (Reg. No. 9221) was placed on the agenda.
The People´s Deputies scrutinized several other bills suggested for placing on agenda. They discussed the bills on amendments to clause 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Re decriminalization of responsibility of particular officials), on amendments to several laws of Ukraine (re introduction of European standards in criminal justice), and on amendments to clause 6 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine (re circumstances excluding criminal proceedings).
None of these bills was placed on the session agenda.
Chairman of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement presented the bill on amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure (re improvement of particular provisions).
BYuT-Batkivshchyna and Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence Factions demanded that a recess be announced.
The speakers called for "passing a balanced compromise decision."
Head of the BYuT-Batkivshchyna Faction Ivan Kyrylenko focused on the court proceedings against Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Yu. Tymoshenko. "The unjust proceedings against Yulia Tymoshenko are almost terminated. For those who had luck to look at this absurd play it is obvious that the case in the court doesn't stand up to scrutiny, so reasonable decision will be passed, since it can save the situation for the state and rescue its image in the world," he stressed.
People´s Deputy of Ukraine Viktor Matviychuk presented the bill on amendments to clause 34 and item 1 of the Final Provisions of the Law "On Urban Development Regulation" (re specification of certain provisions).
The bill was adopted as a basis.
The parliamentarians scrutinized and rejected the draft resolution on certain measures aimed at preservation of cultural objects of national importance "Volodymyr´s Town Citadel of the Ancient Kyiv with Desiatynna Church Foundation."
People´s Deputies also scrutinized a number of draft resolutions on celebration of memorable dates, namely, "On Celebration of the 180th Anniversary of the Ruthenian Triad (Ruska Triytsia) and the 175th Anniversary of the Dniester Nymph (Rusalka Dnistrova) Almanac", and "On Celebration of the 100th Birthday Anniversary of Oleksa Hirnyk, Hero of Ukraine."
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the resolution "On Celebration of the 180th Anniversary of the Ruthenian Triad (Ruska Triytsia) and the 175th Anniversary of the Dniester Nymph (Rusalka Dnistrova) Almanac."
The draft resolution on celebration of the 100th birthday anniversary of Oleksa Hirnyk, Hero of Ukraine, was recommitted.
The chairman adjourned the morning sitting.
The next plenary meeting of the ninth session will be held on Thursday, October 6.
At 15.00 the parliamentary hearings "On Reformation of System of Bides of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Implementation of European Standards" opened at the session hall.
