Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, informed on the results of work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the plenary meetings on July 5.

 

BYuT-Batkivshchyna and Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Factions insisted that a recess be announced.

 

Representative of BYuT-Batkivshchyna faction Olena Shustik drew attention to the yesterday´s events in the Pechersk Court during the judicial proceedings against Yulia Tymoshenko, Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine.

 

BYuT-Batkivshchyna faction insisted that A. Mohyliov, Minister of Internal Affairs, brings to responsibility persons who ordered to interfere with the court´s work, beat people and journalists present in the court hall.

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, presented the draft resolution "On Dismissal of V.K.Symonenko from the Office of Head of the Accounting Chamber."

 

The Verkhovna Rada passed the Resolution by 272 votes.

 

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also dismissed M.M.Holovan and Ya.A.Flissak from the offices of chief inspectors of the Accounting Chamber.

 

The Parliament adopted the Schedule of the Ninth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation.

 

The parliamentarians scrutinized amendments to several bills in the second reading.

 

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the following bills in entirety: "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and several Legislative Acts of Ukraine" (re Strengthening of Several Provisions of the Tax Code of Ukraine); "On Amendments to the Fundamentals of Health Legislation of Ukraine regarding Improvement of Medical Assistance" and "On the Reform of Healthcare System in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk Regions and in Kyiv."

 

The People´s Deputies resolved to work without recess, prolonging the morning sitting for one hour and the afternoon sitting until all the agenda items are scrutinized.

 

The parliamentarians scrutinized several draft resolutions on appointment and dismissal of judges.

 

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed several resolutions of early elections of several village and city mayors.

 

The People´s Deputies continued scrutiny of amendments to the Laws in the second reading.

 

The following bills were adopted in entirety: "On Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding National Commissions in charge of State Regulation of Natural Monopolies, Communications and Information System Development, Security Markets and Financial Services" and "On the State Land Register."

 

At the end of the morning sitting, the parliamentarians started to scrutinize the amendments to the bill on amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine and several other legislative acts of Ukraine (re harmonization with the provisions of the effective Laws) . The People´s Deputies continued scrutiny during the afternoon sitting.

 

The bill was adopted in entirety by 240 votes.

 

The People´s Deputy started to scrutinize the bill on legislative support of pension system in the second reading.

 

Adjusting the bill to the second reading, the Committee on the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and People with Disabilities received 1 179 motions and amendments from the subjects of legislative initiative. 528 of them were taken into accounts, 651 were rejected.    

 

The committee harmonized several proposals with the Cabinet of Ministers. Thus, the committee recommended not raising the retirement age for women, and leaving the normative length of service for calculating the minimum pension.

 

Although several provisions of the bill were compromised, the committee does not uphold the draft.

 

The People´s Deputies started to scrutinize the amendments to the bill.

 

Scrutiny lasted till 01.30 of July 8.

 

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Legislative Support of the Pension Reform" in the second reading and in its entirety by 248 votes.

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, adjourned the afternoon plenary meeting.
