THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the plenary meeting, and reported on the results of work of The Verkhovna Rada at the plenary meetings on February 1.
The People´s Deputies announced their motions, appeals and requests.
People´s Deputy Viktor Shemchuk presented the bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding Crimes against Life, Health, Will, Reputation and Dignity of a Person.
The bill was adopted as a basis by 276 votes.
The following bills were withdrawn: on amendments to the Law "On the Nuclear Energy Use and Nuclear Safety" (re civil responsibility for nuclear damage); on amendments to the Laws of Ukraine "On Co-Generation of Heating and Power, and Use of Disposed Energy Potential" and "On the Priority Areas of Innovations in Ukraine" (re promotion of co-generation technologies); on the organization and conduct of gambling in Ukraine.
The People´s Deputies referred the bill on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re standardization and compulsory certification) for adjustment.
People´s Deputy Anatolii Hrytsenko presented the bill on amendments to clause 39 of the Law "On Telecommunications" (re regulation of fees for telecommunication services). The bill was rejected.
The bill on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine (re Increase of Revenue of the Funds of Compulsory State Social Insurance under the Conditions of overcoming the Consequences of the Global Financial Crisis) was presented by Vasyl Khara, People´s Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Labour.
V. Khara announced that the Committee on Social Policy and Labour recommended the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the bill as a basis.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill by 250 votes.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine regarding Compulsory State Social Insurance (re strengthening of financial discipline as to the payment of fees to the Fund of Compulsory State Social Insurance).
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the Resolution "On Celebration of the 170th Anniversary of Birth of Mykhailo Drahomanov, Prominent Ukrainian Writer, Publicist, Historian and Public Figure" by 388 votes.
The following bills were rejected: on amendments to the Law "On Joint-Stock Companies" (regarding the right of ordinary shares owners for dividends); on amendments to clause 57 of the Law "On Education" (regarding guarantees of social security of the academic and academic-teaching board).
The bill on amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements (re Strengthening of Responsibility for Pollution of Forests) was presented by Andrii Pavlovskyi, People´s Deputy of Ukraine.
Chairman of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Viktor Shemchuk informed that the Committee recommended the Parliament to direct the bill for adjustment.
The People´s Deputies supported the author of the bill, adopting the bill by 344 votes.
Adam Martyniuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, adjourned the morning plenary meeting.
The next plenary meeting of the eighth session shall be held on Thursday, February 3.
