AN EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE 6TH CONVOCATION WAS HELD ON MONDAY, AUGUST 30
411 People´s Deputies registered to attend the session.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declared the meeting open. He announced that in accordance with the applicable legislation of Ukraine, only the issues brought forward by the session initiators shall be scrutinized at the extraordinary session.
The Chairman announced scrutiny of the bills "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Elections of Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, Local Councils, and Village, Township and City Mayors" (re Transparency and Democratic Character of Local Elections) submitted by People´s Deputies Lev Biriuk, Arsenii Yatseniuk, Oleksandr Yefremov and Yurii Karmazin.
The subjects of legislative initiative answered the questions of the People´s Deputies.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill in its entirety by 264 votes.
The Chairman announced scrutiny of the bill on amendments to the Law "On the State Guarantees of the Ukrainian Citizens´ Savings Recovery" (re savings recovery procedure) and gave floor to Abdrii Kravets, Deputy Minister of Finance. The presenter stated that the bill presupposed introduction of two information and analytical programs "Savings Depositors Register" and "Register of Insurers and the Insured." The bill also envisaged cash and non-cash compensation transactions via the Oshchadnyi Bank of Ukraine and the former Ukrderzhstrakh Ukrainian State Insurance Commercial Organization to optimize and increase efficiency of public funds administration.
The People´s Deputies referred the bill for adjustment by 249 votes.
Then the People´s Deputies listened to the report on social security due to the fixation of tariffs for gas and public utility services. The Verkhovna Rada passed the Resolution "On Social Security due to the Fixation of Tariffs for Gas and Public Utility Services" as a basis by 240 votes. Then the resolution was adopted in its entirety by 244 votes.
In the end of the session, V.Lytvyn announced that the regular seventh session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation shall be launched on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. He adjourned the extraordinary session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation.
