On Wednesday, September 8, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation continued plenary work.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the sitting, and briefed on the results of work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on September 7.
The speaker also announced the change of the title of the Deputy Faction "BYuT" for "BYuT-Batkivshchyna" pursuant to the protocol of the faction meeting of September 6, 2010. He also announced expulsion of the People´s Deputies B. Hubskii, I. Denkovych and A. Rodovets from this faction. These Deputies are currently not affiliated with any major faction.
The Chairman suggested that the Parliamentarians vote for amending the agenda, scrutiny of the bills on the moratorium on increase of the retirement age for women, introduction of tax holidays for small business, energy security of Ukraine and the draft resolution on proper functioning of the housing and public services in Ukraine. On their immediate scrutiny insisted the factions "BYuT-Batkivshchyna" and "Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence."
V. Lytvyn put each of the bills to the vote. The voting was inefficient.
The People´s Deputies supported the Chairman and voted for the prolongation of the plenary meeting on Wednesday, till all the issues on the agenda are scrutinized.
"BYuT-Batkivshchyna" and "Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence" Factions blocked the presidium, the tribune and the governmental box.
On the demand of "BYuT-Batkivshchyna" and "Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence" Factions, the Chairman announced a 30-minute recess to hold the Conciliate Council with the faction leaders.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adjourned the plenary meeting. The next plenary meeting shall be held on September 9, 2010.
