PLENARY WEEK OF THE SIXTH SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION CONCLUDED ON FRIDAY, 21 MAY
In the beginning of the morning plenary meeting, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, briefed on the results of work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the plenary meetings on 20 May.
The Chairman reminded that a Government Question Hour shall be held on Friday at 10 00 -11 00 in compliance with the Law "On the Standing Orders." Representatives of the non-coalition deputy factions suggested that during the Government Question Hour the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine briefed on the international agreements signed between Ukraine and the Russian Federation during the official visit of Dmitriy Medvedev, President of the Russian Federation, to Ukraine on 17-18 May 2010.
Kostiantyn Hryshchenko, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, responded to the written appeal of Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defense Deputy Faction. The members of the Faction put the following question: will the agreements signed and the agreements on the demarcation of borders between Ukraine and the Russian Federation to be signed result in the loss of Ukraine´s control over the Kerch Channel and the Ukrainian part of the Azov Sea water area?
K. Hryshchenko assured the People´s Deputies that the concluded agreement on the demarcation of borders between Ukraine and the Russian Federation sets legal grounds for the demarcation of the land area of the State border with the Russian Federation. He stated that setting up of the joint Ukrainian-Russian demarcation panel shall provide for the organization and performance of works on the State border demarcation.
K. Hryshchenko emphasized that conclusion of the agreement is by no means connected with the negotiations on delimitation of the Azov and the Black Seas and the Kerch Channel with the Russian Federation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine answered the question that concerned the following matters: inclusion of the Russian TV-providers into the broadcasting package of the Ukrainian television channels; environmental issues in the Black Sea basin due to the stay of the Black Sea Fleet in the Crimea; representation of the Ukraine´s interests by Russia at the meetings of the Great Seven and the Great Twenty; delimitation of the sea border between Ukraine and Russia; participation of Ukraine in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, etc.

The People´s Deputies scrutinized the bills regarding holding of the final part of the European Football Championship 2012 in Ukraine.
Serhii Rybak, Deputy Minister of Finance, presented two governmental bills: on Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding the Customs Registration of Goods and Products for the Preparation and Conduction of the Final part of the Europe Football Championship 2012 in Ukraine (Reg. No. 6411) and on Amendments to Clause 5 of the Law "On Value Added Tax" (re Taxation by the holding of the Final Part of the European Football Championship 2012 in Ukraine) (Reg. No. 6412).
People´s Deputy Oleksandr Zats presented the bill on amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine regarding development and preparation of the hotel infrastructure for the holding of the Final Part of the European Football Championship 2012 in Ukraine (Reg. No.6309).
The bill (Reg. No. 6411) was adopted as a basis by 321 votes; the bill (Reg. No. 6412) was adopted as a basis and in its entirety by 335 votes, the bill (Reg. No.6309) was adopted as a basis by 226 votes.
The People´s Deputies scrutinized the bill on Amendments to the Criminal-Procedural Code of Ukraine regarding the Extradition.
The bill was adopted in its entirety as a law by 297 votes.
The Verkhovna Rada has early terminated the authorities of People´s Deputies O.O.Kostusiev and S.M.Larin on the grounds of their resignation appeals.
Kateryna Samoilyk presented the report of the Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate the Incrimination in Child Molestation.
The Head of the Temporary Inquiry Panel informed about the lack of data to prove the testimony. The testimony of the children concerned is controversial.
The Verkhovna Rada rejected the draft resolution on the report of the Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate the Incrimination in Child Molestation.
Adam Martyniuk, First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reminded that the resolution on the setting up of the Temporary Inquiry Panel of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate the Incrimination in Child Molestation fixed a three-month period of its work. As this period has passed, he announced that activity of the Panel was terminated.
In the end of the plenary meeting, the deputies presented their appeals, motions and announcements.
On 25-28 May, the People´s Deputies shall work with the voters.
The next plenary meeting of the sixth session shall be held on Tuesday, 1 June.
