THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK ON WEDNESDAY, 19 MAY
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declared the plenary meeting open and briefed on the results of work of The Verkhovna Rada at the plenary meeting on 18 May.
The People´s Deputies presented their motions, appeals and announcements.
The People´s Deputies started to scrutinize the issues on agenda. The People´s Deputies eliminated inconsistencies in the text of the adopted Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" (re Licensing Terms)".
People´s Deputy Andrii Senchenko presented two bills on amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements and the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The bills were forwarded for further drafting.
The People´s Deputies postponed scrutiny of the bills on amendments to the Law "On Access to the Court Decisions" and on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (re use of labour of foreigners and stateless persons in Ukraine).
People´s Deputy Viktor Shemchuk presented the bill on amendments to the Law "On State Support of Shipbuilding Industry of Ukraine" (re Prolongation of State Support of Shipbuilding Industry of Ukraine).
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill at the first reading by 332 votes.
People´s Deputy Roman Tkach presented the bill on amendments to the Land Code of Ukraine (re right of foreigners for land).
The bill was rejected.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted two bills as a basis: on Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements (re Strengthening of Responsibility for Infringements concerning Children) (Reg. No. 2327) and on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine (re Strengthening of Responsibility for Crimes against Children) (Reg. No. 3558).
The bill on amendments to the Law "On Pension Provision of Persons dismissed from the Military Service, and other Persons" (re rate of pension in connection with the loss of a breadwinner).
In the result of the voting the People´s Deputies rejected the bill on amendments to the Law "On State Protection of the State Power Bodies and Officials of Ukraine" (regarding the withdrawal of the status of the military organization in the Department of the State Security of Ukarine) and on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (regarding the prohibition on alcohol use on the onboard).
V. Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adjourned the morning sitting.
The next plenary meeting will be held on Thursday, 20 May.
