THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK ON WEDNESDAY, 2 JUNE
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the plenary meeting. He briefed on the results of work of The Verkhovna Rada at the plenary meeting on 1 June.
V.Lytvyn announced that People´s Deputy Mykola Traiduk entered the coalition of the deputy factions "Stability and Reforms."
The People´s Deputies presented their motions, appeals and announcements.
Then the People´s Deputies voted for supplementing the agenda of the sixth session with a number of bills submitted by the opposition factions. After ineffective votes, members of the opposition factions refused to participate in the voting.
The BYuT and Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence Factions addressed the Chairman with a request to announce a recess for the Conciliative Council.
The People´s Deputies supported supplementing the agenda with the bill on judicial system and status of judges submitted by the President of Ukraine.
The Chairman announced a recess on the demand of the BYuT and Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence Factions.
V.Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that the sitting of the Conciliative Council had been ineffective. The members of the coalition factions failed to respond to the motion of the opposition factions to re-include the rejected bills on agenda. The Chairman suggested re-scrutinizing the rejected bills.
The motion was declined. Members of the BYuT Faction left the session hall.
Draft Resolutions "On Celebration of the 750th Anniversary of Foundation of Buchach in Ternopil Region", "On Celebration of the 925th Anniversary of Foundation of Lutsk in Volyn Region" and "On Celebration of the 700th Anniversary of Foundation of Kovel in Volyn Region" were included on agenda.
The People´s Deputies passed all the draft resolutions.
The Verkhovna Rada rejected the following bills: on amendments to the Law "On the State Control Auditing Service in Ukraine" and on to several legislative acts of Ukraine; on amendments to the Law "On Consumer Protection" (re enhancement of responsibility for violation of consumer rights); on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine (re the right of foreign Ukrainians for free higher education in Ukraine); on supplements to the Civil Code of Ukraine (re acceptance of an inheritance).
Scrutiny of the bills on amendments to the Law "On Higher Education" (re conferment of the national status to the higher educational institutions and procedure of board members appointment); on amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding strengthening of the liability for the illegal deprivation of right on dwelling; on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding restriction of early state supervision (control) in the sphere of economic activity; on amendments to the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" (re the regulation of transmission of programs with paid and interactive contests) were postponed to the upcoming plenary meetings.
In the result of the scrutiny, the bill on amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Labour of Ukraine (regarding the labour day (shift) duration) was forwarded for further drafting.
The bill on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (re the terms of wages payment) was presented by Volodymyr Marushchenko, Chairman of the Sub-committee of the Committee on Social Policy and Labour.
The parliamentarians upheld the bill.
The bill on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (re the terms of wages payment) was adopted as a basis with the motion of People´s Deputy O. Stoian to fix the seven-day deadline for wages payment since the beginning of the salary payment term.
In the end of the morning plenary meeting, the People´s Deputies of Ukraine scrutinized the bill on amendments to the Law "On Tours in Ukraine"(re the rate of charge for the conduction of tours and proper funds use of the income) and forwarded it for further drafting.
The Chairman adjourned the morning plenary meeting.
The next plenary meeting shall be held on Thursday, 3 June.
