ON THURSDAY 25 FEBRUARY THE GRAND MEETING OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE DEDICATED TO THE OATH-TAKING OF VIKTOR YANUKOVYCH, A NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE.

 

In the session hall were present: The People´s Deputies of Ukraine, The Second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, former Chairmen of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Government of Ukraine, Chairman and Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine, Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine, Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine, Prosecutor-General of Ukraine, Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, Chairman and members of the Central Election Committee of Ukraine, President of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, Ombudsperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Chairman of the Court of Auditors, Government Members, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Chairman of Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Chairmen of the Regional Councils, Kyiv City Mayor, Chairman of the Sevastopol City Council. 

In the grand meeting participated approximately 100 delegations of the foreign states, close confidants of the newly elected President of Ukraine, representatives of the public organizations and mass media.

In the session hall were also presented representatives of the diplomatic body, public organizations and all the religious confessions in Ukraine. 

They saluted Viktor Yanukovych with applause. 

The Chorus executed National Anthem of Ukraine 

The Grand Meeting was opened by Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

 Volodymyr Shapoval, the Chairman of the Central Election Committee announced that in the result of the elections of the President of Ukraine, Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych was elected on the post of the President of Ukraine. 

A. Stryzhak, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine presented the text of the Oath to the Ukrainian People, defined by the Constitution of Ukraine to Viktor Yanukovych, a Newly Elected President of Ukraine.

The newly elected President of Ukraine put the hand on the Constitution of Ukraine and on Peresopnytske Gospel and took an Oath before the Ukrainian People, signed the text of the oath and gave it to the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. 

A. Stryzhak, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine announced: the newly elected President of Ukraine took an oath pursuant to the clause 104 of the Constitution of Ukraine and assumed the Presidency of Ukraine. Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine presented the text of the signed oath to Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

 

The Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine presented to the Head of the State the emblems of power - A Symbol of a President of Ukraine, Coat-f-arms Seal and Mace though the Chairman of the Central Election Committee presented to him - Certificate of the president of Ukraine.

Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine addressed the audience with inauguration speech.

He stated that the country now is extremely complicated situation lack of the state budget for the current year, immense state debts, poverty, ruined economics, and corruption that is Ukrainian reality.

 

Thus V. Yanukovych declared that the state can be saved now not only from the social-economic collapse but moreover, the country is to be put into the path of the speeded development.

 

The President of Ukraine called the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to support him and his efforts aimed at the formation of the transparent, effective and responsible system of the state management, able to work with the President in synchronic regime.

 

V. Yanukovych also called the People´s Deputies to the cooperation in the name of Ukraine. "Such cooperation is of decisive character for the state power, juridical system and Constitution reformation. We are obliged to alter the present state of things. Structure of all the power branches possesses one single aim rapid adoption of the necessary laws and their rapid implementation", - he proclaimed.

 

The Head of the state emphasized the fact that Ukraine is obliged to choose long-termed development strategy. "Ukraine will choice such a foreign policy that enables our state to receive maximum result from the development of equal and mutually profitable relations with Russian Federation, European Union, The United States of America and others that influence the development of our state", - he emphasized.

 

V. Yanukovych in the end of his speech declared: "Assuming the Presidency of Ukraine I want to address the Ukrainian people and assure all my fellow citizens that all my promises and obligations will be kept."

 

The People´s Deputies of Ukraine, the audience congratulated Viktor Yanukovych with applauses.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adjourned the grand meeting. The State Anthem of Ukraine was executed.
