ON FRIDAY, 5 MARCH, THE PLENARY WEEK OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WAS CONCLUDED.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, briefed on the results of work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the plenary sittings on 4 March.
The People´s Deputies announced their reports, appeals and motions.
The Resolution on the Preservation of Territory of Klymentieva Mountain (Uzun-Syrt) in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was presented by People´s Deputy Volodymyr Danylenko.
Volodymyr Danylenko stated that the Resolution terminated and cancelled the acts on the property right of the land plots on this territory that used to be allocated for the country.
The Chairman of the Sub-Committee of the Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations Valerii Bevzenko informed about the Committee decision to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada adopts the Resolution in its entirety.
The People´s Deputies upheld the Draft Resolution and adopted it by 354 votes.
The Resolution "On Proclamation of 2010 as the Year of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War" was presented by People´s Deputy Vadym Kolisnechenko. He stated that the Resolution proclaimed the year 2010 in Ukraine as the Year of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Petro Tsybenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities, informed about the Committee´s decision to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada upholds the Draft Resolution as a basis and in its entirety.
The People´s Deputies upheld the Draft Resolution. Some speakers suggested honoring not only the Veterans of the Great Patriotic War but also the Veterans of Liberation War, announcing the year 2010 as the year of the Veterans of the Second World War.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the Resolution "On Proclamation of 2010 as the Year of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War" in its entirety by 335 votes.
The Bill on the Power Engineering Lands and the Legal Status of Special Zones of the Power Engineering Objects was presented by Serhii Pashynskii. He pointed out the fact that the bill determined organizational and legal principles of the acquisition of property right for the power engineering lands, establishment and observance of the legal regime of land use in the special zones of the power engineering objects in order to secure their regular work, reasonable land use, protection of the environment and observance of the environmental safety.
The profile Committee upheld the Bill and recommended that the Parliament adopted it as a basis.
The People´s Deputies also upheld the Bill in the first reading by 322 votes.
The Bill "On Guarding Service" was presented by Valerii Bevz , Secretary of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement.
V. Bevz emphasized that the Bill established legal, organizational and economic principles of guarding service rendered by the economic entities in any form of ownership. The Bill determines the authorities of the guarding service subjects, guarantees of legal and social protection of the guard personnel, observance of rights of individuals and legal entities in the guarding service, as well as relations of the guarding service subjects with the State bodies in charge of law order and corruption fighting.
In the result of the scrutiny, the Bill was adopted as a basis.
The next plenary meeting of the sixth session shall be held on Tuesday, 9 March.
