THE PLENARY WEEK OF THE FOURTH SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WAS CONCLUDED ON FRIDAY, 26 JUNE
Before the beginning of the morning meeting, representatives of the Party of Regions blocked the presidium and the lectern.
The work of The Verkhovna Rada was unblocked at 11.40 a.m.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, opened the morning meeting and informed about the results of the Conciliative Council held to discuss the reasons for blocking. According to the Chairman, the representatives of the Party of Regions demanded that the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2009" (re increase of the minimum wage and minimum living wage) be adopted that day.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine suggested voting for the Bill under the shortened procedure, and drafting it for the second reading till the next plenary week. However, the Conciliative Council failed to endorse the proposal.
The participants of the Conciliative Council agreed not to scrutinize any issue of the agenda that day, including personnel issues and deputy inquiries, but continue the consultations instead.
The Chairman closed the plenary meeting.
The next plenary meeting of the Fourth Session will be opened on 7 July.
