PLENARY MEETING OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE WAS HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 15 APRIL
In the beginning of the meeting, the People´s Deputies scrutinized the Bill on Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil on Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
The Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil on Scientific and Technical Cooperation was ratified by 379 votes.
The Verkhovna Rada ratified: the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America concerning Cooperation in the Field of Science and Technologies; the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks; the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe concerning the OSCE-Ukraine Project on Utilization of Melange Stock (a Component of Liquid Propellant).
People´s Deputy Viktor Oliynyk presented the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens-Victims of Chornobyl Disaster" (re Enhancement of Social Protection).
The Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens-Victims of Chornobyl Disaster" (re Enhancement of Social Protection) was adopted as a basis (312 votes).
The People´s Deputies scrutinized certain Bills at the First Reading. In the result of the scrutiny, the following Bills were adopted: on Amendments to Article 147 of the Civil Code of Ukraine (re Notification concerning an Intention to sell a Share in the Authorized Capital), on Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine concerning Cognizance of Cases on Land Relations, on Amendments to the Law "On Drug-Testing Control in Sports".
The Bills on Amendments to the Criminal-Procedural and Criminal-Executive Codes of Ukraine and on Amendments to the Criminal Codes of Ukraine were adopted as a basis.
The following Bills were rejected: on Amendments to the Law "On Charity and Charitable Organizations", on Amendments to the Law "On the Status of War Veterans, Safeguards of their Social Security", on Amendments to the Law "On the Value Added Tax".
The People´s Deputies upheld the Resolution "On Amendments to the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On setting a Moratorium on Eviction of Editorial Offices of Mass Media, Cultural Institutions (Libraries, Editorial Offices, Book Shops, Book Distrivbution Enterprises)" (356 votes).
The Verkhovna Rada also passed the Draft Resolution "On Actions to be taken to preserve the Monuments of Cultural Heritage of "Palanok" Castle" (Mukacheve, Zakarpattia region).
Then the morning plenary meeting was closed.
