ON WEDNESDAY, 4 MARCH, THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE, CONTINUED ITS PLENARY WORK

 

In the beginning of the morning meeting, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, informed the People´s Deputies about the results of parliament´s work at the plenary meetings on 3 March.

 

People´s Deputy Mykola Kravchenko presented the Bill on Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine (re Delineation of Functions and Authorities of Kyiv Mayor and Head of Kyiv City State Administration).  

 

The People´s Deputies failed to adopt the Bill as a basis and forwarded it to the repeated First Reading.

 

Then the People´s Deputies scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Election of Deputies of The Verkhovna Rada of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, Local Councils, and Village, Settlement, City Mayors" (re Election of Mayors under the Majority System of Absolute Majority).

 

The Bill was declined.

 

Then the People´s Deputies scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Local Self-Government in Ukraine" (re Coordination with Effective Laws concerning Appointment and Dismissal of Heads of Educational Establishments). The Bill was forwarded to the repeated First Reading (227 votes).

 

The Verkhovna Rada declined the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine (re Elimination of Obstacles to the Activity of Law Enforcement Bodies).

 

The People´s Deputies scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Organization of Formation and Circulation of Credit Histories".

 

The Bill was adopted as the Law in its entirety (370 votes).

 

Then Valeriy Khoroshkovsky, acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, reported on the detention of an employee of the customs service. He stated that the employee was arrested for the illegal customs clearance of gas.

 

Then the People´s Deputies scrutinized another Bill appertaining to the amendments to the Law "On Organization of Formation and Circulation of Credit Histories".

 

The Bill was forwarded for further elaboration (229 votes).

 

The People´s Deputies scrutinized two Bills on Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine (re Enhancement of Responsibility for Political, Racial, National or Religious Intolerance).    

 

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Bill as a basis.

 

In the end of the morning meeting, the People´s Deputies scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine concerning Customs Sector. The Bill was declined.

 

The Chairman closed the plenary meeting.

 

The next plenary meeting of the Fourth Session will be held on Thursday, 5 March.
