Accept my sincere congratulations on your professional holiday and my gratitude for your enthusiastic dedicated work. Thanks to your efforts every year millions of passengers in our country travel by railway transport and receive tons of shipments.
The history of railway transport of Ukraine starts on November 4, 1861 when the first train from Vienna arrived to Lviv railway station. Thus, railway connection has existed and has been developing for over 150 years on the territory of modern Ukraine.
One of the priority tasks for this sphere at its present stage is integration into European railway network, hence – adherence of over 20 thousand kilometers of rails to European standards. This is a strategic task not merely for development of economic relations but for protection of Ukrainian state.
