Synchronic ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement jointly with the European Parliament is one of the most important decisions of the present-day Parliament. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov claimed this in the interview to “TSN” programme (“1+1”) on Tuesday.
Responding to the question which decision he deems to be the most important, Oleksandr Turchynov claimed: “We have restored the democratic Constitution.” He called synchronic ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement jointly with the European Parliament to be a historic decision. “We do everything possible to make the European perspective a reality and not a political slogan or a billboard inscription,” noted Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada.
Thereat, Oleksandr Turchynov felt pity that the Parliament did not adopt several legislative acts, referred by the Government and aimed at introducing European standards in Ukraine. “The Government has referred several program documents so that within three years we could become actually a European country ready to enter the EU. Unfortunately, proceeding from political fight around the electoral process, this was not upheld,” he said.
At the same time, Chairperson of the Parliament expressed hope that the next composition of the Verkhovna Rada will put these bills into life.
