The bill (Reg. No. 4538a) establishes that a person who committed a crime stipulated by part one of article 265 of the Code shall be released from criminal responsibility if he/she voluntary handovers radioactive materials to government authority.
Adoption of the abovementioned bill will increase the degree of safety of the present-day and future generations against harmful influence of ionizing radiation from radioactive wastes; positively influence the state of radiation safety; decrease negative influence on the environment and population; and establish favorable conditions for the retrieval of radioactive waste from the regions and their handover to specialized enterprises.
