The bill (Reg. No. 2298) was elaborated according to the requirements of the Law “On Space Activity” under which “space activity in Ukraine is carried out on the basis of Nationwide (National) space program of Ukraine, which is elaborated for five years and is approved by the Verkhovna Rada”.
The Program aims at increasing efficiency of use of space potential to resolve topical tasks of the socio-economic, cultural, information and scientific-education development of the society, ensuring national security and defense, and protecting geopolitical interests of the state.
The program determines ways and means of resolving problems, enlists tasks and measures and fulfillment terms, as well as amounts and sources of financing.
An approximate amount of program budgeting amounts to UAH 2,58 billion, including UAH 1.12 billion from the State Budget. Amount of program budgeting is determined each year by reference to the State Budget possibilities.
