The Committee on Culture and Spirituality considered the issue of archeological heritage preservation in the context of museum development

The Chairman of the Committee Vyacheslav Kyrylenko noted that “experts raise the alarm, since even today a great number of unique archeological objects of both national and global cultural and historic significance is being illegally dug out in Ukraine”. According to him, this process is that fast that “if the situation is not rectified immediately, then we and our descendants will soon lose even theoretic possibility to examine and study the history of our native land”.

It was stressed that the Committee continues working on preparation of the mechanism of legal regulation of the issue of using such equipment as metal detectors. Particularly, it is planned to introduce licenses to use such equipment.
