In his speech Vyacheslav Kyrylenko outlined the range of topical issues regarding state archives, in particular, the need for reducing bureaucratic obstacles in access to archival materials, approaching to modern standards of work with users, providing free access to all funds without exception especially to those that reveal “blank spaces” of Ukrainian history, creation of electronic copes of archival documents.
According to him, the archival sphere needs, among other things, regulated legislation, the increase of volume and effectiveness of state funding.
The Chairman of the Committee stressed that the Committee is open for constructive dialogue with archivists to jointly solve these issues.
“Free access to national archives – is fist of all the image of the state, way to its democratic development,” Vyacheslav Kyrylenko stated.
