During the meeting, the Committee Chairman stressed that “Ukraine and Moldova have significant potential for development of mutually beneficial relationship in many spheres”.
Noting that relations between both countries actively develop in all directions, including parliamentary dimension, V.Kaliuzhnyi drew attention to the fact that “the overall objective of Ukraine and Moldova regarding integration to the European Union contributes to this process”. “Thereat, he stressed, Ukraine continues fruitful cooperation with countries of the Customs Union”.
Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova expressed hope that “Ukraine will continue making every effort to settle Transdniestrian conflict, using for this purpose its OSCE chairmanship”.
V.Kaliuzhnyi assured I.Stevile that the Verkhovna Rada will, in the nearest future, approve composition of the Ukraine-Moldova Friendship Group that “has traditionally existed during all convocations of our Parliament and does significant work to deepen and broaden bilateral relations between our countries”.
The Parties have also discussed current political and economic situation in Central-East European region.
