Dear friends!
On behalf of the people’s deputies of Ukraine and on my own behalf I sincerely congratulate you on the glorious jubilee – the 65th anniversary of scientific and outreach activity of the Znannya Society of Ukraine. In truth, today Ukrainian scientific and outreach activity has become an inseparable part of grass-roots democracy and one of the fundamental institutes of establishing civil society in our country.
Modern realities confirm the vitality of voluntary self-organization of intellectuals in independent scientific and outreach teams to spread political and scientific knowledge among different population groups. Entwinement of traditions of self-regulation, as well as fundamentals of representative and local democracy with free spiritual and cultural expression of citizens is one of the main principles of organization and functioning of authority. It ensures productive spiritual and moral life of Ukrainian people, and it is an important precondition of stability in the state, a source of energy and accumulation of strong civil initiative.
Having played an important role in renewing the independency of Ukraine during large-scale and systemic national-democratic transformations, the Society makes an important contribution in building Ukrainian state. Activists of the Society promote informational settling of spiritual and philosophical, linguistic and cultural, as well as social and economic problems. They contribute to triumph of human rights, political freedoms and the rule of law, enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine.
I believe that due to broad implementation of high-tech and computer technologies that leaves thousands of people without work and, thus, poses the problem of employment, the Znannya Society of Ukraine could have provided more active scientific, outreach and educational services to the population at government order. It could have helped people find their place in society, particularly, in the entrepreneurship sector.
I wish you all peace, sound health, happiness, significant and multiple achievements for the good of Ukrainian people and in the name of prospering of Ukraine in the XXI century!
