The
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine V.Rybak said this during the
meeting with the Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs and Relations
with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the
Russian Federation Leonid Slutsky.
V
Rybak expressed his gratitude to the Russian Party for active
participation of its representatives in the international observance
over elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. “Effective assessment
of the election process without “double standards” is extremely
important to us,” he noted. The Chairman of the Parliament expressed
conviction that the new composition of the Parliament will be oriented
at developing fruitful cooperation with Russia in the spirit of
strategic partnership.
V.Rybak
noted that after establishing the composition of the Ukrainian part of
the Inter-parliamentary Commission for Cooperation beetween the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Federal Assembly of the Russian
Federation it would be possible to start preparation for the eleventh
meeting.
The
Parties stressed the importance of further development of
inter-parliamentary component of bilateral cooperation at the level of
parliamentary “friendship groups”.
L.Slutsky
extended an invitation of the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Sergey
Naryshkin to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to make an official
visit to the Russian Federation.
V.Rybak thanked for invitation and noted that such visit would be possible at the end of the first quarter of 2013.
Having
discussed a number of topical issues, both in economic and humanitarian
spheres, the Parties unanimously agreed that to realize multiple
directions bilateral governmental documents are required. In this
context V.Rybak stressed that “all legislative basis required by the
Government, will be provided by the Parliament”.
“We mean well to our people and we shall jointly do them only good,” V.Rybak stressed.
