The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ihor Kalyetnik congratulated the representatives of the Union of Internal Affairs Bodies Generals on their coming professional holiday – the Day of Militia. He said that such meetings of the heads of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with representatives of the Union on the eve of the Day of Militia have become traditional, and this “proves great respect to the work of militia bodies on the part of the supreme legislative body.”
Ihor Kalyetnik stressed that the members of the Union “are a sample of honest service to the Ukrainian nation, and faithfulness to one’s oath.”According to him, the Parliaments of the previous and present convocations have more that 10 people’s deputies who served in the internal affairs bodies, and it is them who participated in adoption of legislative acts in the field of law enforcement. “Ukraine will become transparent due to its laws,” said Ihor Kalyetnik.
It was noted during the meeting that “the experience of militia generals – is a colossal experience that can and should be used for successful reformation of the internal affairs bodies.” Ihor Kalyetnik hopes that the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation will demonstrate effective and productive work. He stressed that adoption of laws should be preceded by their public discussion, and specialists should be involved into the process of their elaboration.
Ihor Kalyetnik awarded the participants of the meeting with distinctions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
