The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak was presented with the edition “Illuminated Compiled Chronicle of the XVI century. Josephus Flavius. Jewish War”.
This unique book embracing Biblical events from the creation of the world to Rome and Byzantium, as well as highlighting the history of medieval Rus in the period from 1114 to 1567, was created in the times of Ivan the Terrible. It was presented to V. Rybak by German Sterligov, Russian public and political figure, the Chairman of the Board of the “Society of Ancient Literature Lovers”.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said that the publishers of the chronicle “do unique things for our two states.”
G. Sterligov told about the intentions of publishers to present the new edition of the «Kyiv Psalter” at the end of January and distribute it free of charge among the admirers of ancient literature in Ukraine and Russia.
V. Rybak approved of such an initiative and said that the history of the two states started in Kyiv.
