The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should draw up a long-term plan of its legislative work that would meet people’s expectations and international obligations of our state.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak stressed thin on Monday during the meeting with the heads of subdivision of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat and secretariats of parliamentary committees.
The Head of the Parliament stated that he would do his best to reach compromise for the representatives of the ruling party and the opposition “to hear one another”.
According to V. Rybak, the primary issues of people’s concern should be solved at the legislative level. Therefore, stressed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, it is necessary to understand that the elections are over, and we should “rise above the party interests, and be guided by people’s interests, and work for our nation.”
V. Rybak said that it is necessary to have understanding in the session hall, as well as it is necessary to leave behind the actions that do not give any credit to the Verkhovna Rada. “Ukraine is a European state and its Parliament should be European too,” he noted.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada believes that both people’s deputies and the staff of the Secretariat should jointly improve the authority of the single legislative body, including on the international arena.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada invited the staff of the Parliament Secretariat to effective work. V. Rybak called the committees “the main unit in the system of the Parliament” and stressed the importance of professional approach to preparation of legislative acts. “The Verkhovna Rada should adopt the laws that would ensure European living standards in Ukraine,” he said. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that before the bills are considered in the session hall, they should receive expert assessment of the respective departments of the Parliament Secretariat.
