The first meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group on considering issues regarding organizing and holding of plenary meetings of the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of new convocation and responsible for preparation of the respective draft acts was held in the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday.
According to the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the first meeting of the Preparatory Deputy Group is convened by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation not later than 10 days following the official announcement of the election results by the Central Election Commission, provided that no less than two-thirds of the deputies of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada are elected.
On opening the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn suggested that participants of the meeting consider: the issue on election of the chairman, deputy chairman and the secretary of the Preparatory Deputy Group; draft Provision on the issue of Preparatory Deputy Group on considering suggestions regarding organizing and holding plenary meetings of the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation; establishing subgroups of the Preparatory Deputy Group and election of their coordinators; and the date of commencement of the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation (not later than December 13 this year).
