The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation deems that the bill to amend chapter XX “Transitional Provisions” of the Tax Code of Ukraine re peculiarities of environmental tax rate application requires improvement

The Committee stated that the bill (Reg. No. 11330) postpones by two years (starting from 2013) target financing of environmental measures aimed at ecological modernization of enterprises in all spheres whose equipment is characterized by high level of physical and moral wear, which is stipulated by the current version of the Tax Code of Ukraine.

The Committee drew attention to the fact that adoption of the bill in its present version cannot stimulate the improvement of environmental conditions, stabilization and maintenance of ecological balance in Ukraine, update of equipment, and introduction of little-known resource-preserving technologies and securing better environment.
