The sale of agricultural land in Ukraine is possible only under the condition of adoption of the law on land market. This was stressed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn, answering journalists’ questions.
“There can be no agricultural land market in Ukraine in the near-term prospect. This is where the Conciliatory council is of the same mind,” V.Lytvyn said. He expressed the necessity to adopt legislative act that would be of “settling nature for people”.
The Chairman of the Parliament informed that he has encharged “to take out the bill, submitted by the communist faction and the people’s deputy Yu. Miroshnychenko and adopt simple and understandable decision”. V.Lytvyn believes that these documents could be considered tomorrow, on October 16, or on the 6th of November.
Moratorium on land purchase exists anyway, he said, noting that “there is a law on moratorium to sell land until January 1, 2013”. According to the laws of Ukraine, the land market in Ukraine can appear only under the condition of adoption of the law on land market. V.Lytvyn stressed once again that “there is no bill on this issue in the agenda of current session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It was excluded from the list of the agenda”.
