The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should adopt as a basis the bill to amend the Criminal Executive Code regarding increasing the level of convict protection

The bill (Reg. No. 10398), submitted by people’s deputy Yu. Prokopchuk, extends the inventory of convict rights by proposing a new version of article 8 of the Criminal Executive Code.

The author explained the necessity to adopt the bill by the requirement to humanize and increase the level of protection of the convicted persons.

Members of the Committee supported the bill. They believe that its adoption will allow for creation of the necessary legal framework for humanization of punishment performance in Ukraine, and increase of the level of protection of rights and freedoms of the persons serving their sentences.
