The bill (reg.No.0262) submitted by
the President of Ukraine, stipulates Ukraine's accession to the Protocol to the
Convention on the Contract for the international carriage of goods of July 5, 1978
in Geneva. It aims at creation preconditions for Ukraine?s
integration in the Trans-European Transport Network through implementation of
measures regarding accession of the state to international conventions and
agreements in the sphere of international automobile cargo transportation. The
Protocol is the supplementation to the Convention on the Contract for the
International Carriage of Goods and amends article 23 of the Convention. The
unit of account is the unit of special drawing rights (SDR),
the universal unit of the International Monetary Fund.
The Committee
members upheld the bill the adoption of which, according to them, will create
conditions to reduce time of delivery of freight, increase the level of transport
service, contribute to the development of foreign trade cooperation of Ukraine,
etc.
