The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted as a basis the bill to amend the Law "On the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine" regarding national preventive mechanism

The bill (Reg. No. 11073) assigns the function of the national preventive mechanism under the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment to the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada.
