Elections should be considered as a determinant chance for the country and its people. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn stressed this at teacher conferences in Baranivka, Novohrad-Volynskyi and Chervonoarmiysk districts of Zhytomyr region on Tuesday.
According to him, elections are “political possibilities and risks at the same time,” and we need to consider them today as “a determinant chance for the country and its people, as a possibility to overcome deadlocks of Ukrainian political discourses that usually come down to finding enemies.” Due to the class principle “who is not with us is against us”, stressed V. Lytvyn, the country keeps “balancing on the edge of confrontations.”
“We have learned and we can fight against. And now we need to learn to fight for. We need to develop and use mechanisms and institutions that constrain and warn but do not provoke hostility,” said the Head of the Parliament.
