Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that authorities should better assist Ukrainian publishing industry with money rather than with advices. It was declared by the Deputy Chairman giving comments during the opening of VII Kyiv International Book Fair Exhibition.

M. Tomenko emphasized that all the public authorities, starting from the Prime Minister and other dignitaries charged with book publishing industry, have told visiting the exhibition how they care of, read and support Ukrainian books. "I would not argue how they read Ukrainian books, since it quite difficult to be tested, though there are doubts regarding their so-called assistance", M. Tomenko emphasized. Deputy Chairman explained that pursuant to the information of the majority of publishing houses, taking part in "Ukrainian Book" project (as it is known the state, except support of school textbooks publishing, appropriate state budget funds ate the rate UAH 20 million for other publishing projects according to the "Ukrainian Book" program), they have received no funds according to the program. "Thus, it would be better if authorities assist Ukrainian publishing industry with money rather than with advices", Mykola Tomenko believes.
