Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko appealed to the Head of Kyiv City Administration Oleksandr Popov with a request to investigate the situation with payment of salary increments to the national cultural establishments.
M. Tomenko received an appeal from O. Bryhinets, Head of the Standing Commission of Kyiv City Council on Culture and Tourism, concerning payment of salary increments to the national cultural establishments in the municipal ownership of Kyiv. The matter concerns Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater, the National Art Museum of Bohdan and Varvara Khanenkos, the National Museum of Russian Art, the National Center of Folk Culture "Ivan Honchar Museum", the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art, and historical-architectural museum "Kyiv Fortress." Although these cultural establishments have the "national" status, they are in municipal ownership, and do not receive the legally established salary increments.
M. Tomenko stressed that this issue was covered in media, and is pressing for the personnel of the said institutions. The Deputy Chairman asked the Head of Kyiv City Administration to regulate the situation with the payment of salary increments or transfer the respective establishments into the public domain.
