Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn: Issues of Energy Cooperation should not influence Ukrainian-Russian Relations
During the official visit to the Republic of Lithuania, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated, "Such complicated issues as cooperation in energy supply industry shall not influence the inter-state relations."
Ukrainian and Russian relations, according to V. Lytvyn, shall be based on mutual respect. "I am convinced that this approach, open dialogue, and desire to solve existing problems will allow finding the consensus. Traditional gas problems in winter should no longer happen", Chairman explained.
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed that Ukraine has its own strategic national interests, and respective laws should be considered during negotiations. "The best solution is a balanced dialog", Volodymyr Lytvyn emphasized.
