The bill (Reg.
No.8469) sets organizational-legal principles of human trafficking
counteraction, fundamentals of the state policy on human trafficking
counteraction, authorities of executive power bodies, procedure of granting the
status of a victim of human trafficking, and order of assistance to such
individuals. The Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, the Laws "On
Immigration", "On Social Services" and "On Social Work with
Families, Children and Youth" are amended.
The bill determines the rights of the victims of human trafficking.
Thus, an individual who has a status of a human trafficking victim has the right for personal security, respect and also free-of-charge:
Information about their rights and freedoms presented in the language this person can speak or read;
Medical, psychological, social, legal and other forms of necessary assistance;
Temporary placement if so desired by the victim and in case of absence of dwelling in specialized establishments for human trafficking victims for the term up to three months which can be prolonged if necessary upon the decision of the local state administration;
Compensation in moral and material damages at the expense of the guilty individuals in the order established by the Civil Code of Ukraine;
One-off payment in the order established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
Assistance in employment and support of the right for education and professional training.
