Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for introducing the Reports on the Implementation of Laws

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the foregoing statement at the Friday´s briefing dedicated to the results of the Eighth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Sixth Convocation. "By the number of adopted decisions, the current session can be considered a unique one", the Head of the Parliament declared. However, effectiveness of the Ukrainian Parliament can be proved "only by crucial changes in the Ukrainian society and state."

According to the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament, nearly three thousand bills have been registered in the Verkhovna Rada so far. "Everyday nearly 10 bills are registered. Do we need such a figure? Probably not", V. Lytvyn believes.

He deems necessary to thoroughly analyze the approaches to the legislative process. "Thus, I am convinced that my presidium colleagues upheld the idea of parliamentary hearings "Legislative Process in Ukraine: Organizational Issues and Coordination with the Needs of State and Society." The hearings are dedicated to the analysis of the legislative process, state development, and control over the implementation of laws", the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament informed.

He recommends introducing the reports on the implementation of laws.  V.Lytvyn drew special attention to the laws of systemic character and sensitive ones, which should protect interests of Ukrainian citizens.
