Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the foregoing statement in the interview to Channel 5 on Sunday.
He specified that 90 per cent of all bills were submitted by the People´s Deputies, while 10 per cent by the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the National Bank. The Head of the Parliament informed that the bill on land market will be scrutinized in autumn.
Asked about the claimed decline of the Parliament´s role due to adoption of all bills submitted by the President and the Government, V.Lytvyn rejected this claims admitting that "such a viewpoint has the right to life." He stressed, "I doubt that the parliament could show a compelling stand, if the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada threw away the bills submitted by the President and the Government."
The Head of the Parliament called on realizing common responsibility. "Then there would be no claims about decline," V.Lytvyn stated.
