Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, meet the conference of the leaders of Youth of the European People´s Party that is held in Ukraine on September 8-11, 2011.
Deputy Chairman of the Parliament greeted participants of the meeting and positively emphasized an opportunity to evaluate situation in Ukraine and listen not only to authorities declaration on the situation in the state, but moreover, become familiar with the processes in the state. He reminded of the legal proceedings against leaders of the oppositions, complicated relations of authorities and businessman, mass media etc.
Though M. Tomenko is convinced that for Ukraine and for authorities in general it would be useful to evaluate the situation as declared by our European partners. He stressed that "is Europeans learn more on objective situation in Ukraine, their recommendations and cooperation with our state would be more realistic and more adequate." "I am convinced that you will leave our state not only with the formal understating but with the realistic concept of our life. This task should help our leaders together with our friends abroad to reach a consensus", he emphasized.
Moreover, M. Tomenko stressed that it would be great of the Parliament consists of greater number of young deputies and women, since "it is a feature of the European Parliament." He expressed hope that after elections in 2012 the Parliament of Ukraine would become more European in this sense.
