Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine V.M.Lytvyn sent the telegram of condolence to the family of P.T.Tronko, famous researcher, state and public figure.
The telegram reads:
"With deep sorrow did we accept the news on death of Petro Trohymovych Tronko.
An outstanding personality, a great patriot who contributed to the development and establishment of the Ukrainian state, passed away. His research, state and public activity recorded heroic fighting of the Ukrainian country. His educational work served the people, and his efforts were aimed at creation of the national school of regional ethnography, preservation of the historical-cultural heritage of Ukraine, and renovation of spiritual shrines and forgotten names.
Our loss is irrecoverable, our grief is immense.
His bright image will stay in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace."
