During the eighth session, the committee scrutinized 115 bills.
On submission of the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement, 21 laws were adopted in entirety, 7 drafts were recommitted, and 69 bills were rejected or withdrawn.
The committee collected and analyzed the reports of law enforcement bodies on legislative support of law enforcement. The committee held a range of events to discuss personnel training for the Internal Affairs Ministry, the bills on amendments to the Law "On the Police" regarding recruitment for the Internal Affairs Ministry (Reg. No. 7547), and on amendments to clause 18 of the Law "On the Police" (re personnel training) (Reg. No. 8210).
The committee held several international events: workshop conference "Drug Trafficking Counteraction: Domestic and International Experience of Cooperation between the Law Enforcement Bodies and Judiciary"; a round table discussion "International Practice and Modern Methods of Correction."
The committee held a round table discussion to discuss the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, and the hearings "Migration Policy of Ukraine: Implementation, Issues and Perspectives."
During the eighth session, the committee received 68 appeals from the citizens, and 348 appeals from the legal entities.
During the eighth session, the committee met representatives of the international organizations, embassies, and foreign delegations.
The committee processed 135 bills. In comparison, out of 25 other committee of the Verkhovna Rada, 17 committees have competence over less than 50 bills.
The committee appealed to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and heads of all factions with a request to streamline the work of the Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The committee draws attention to the drafting of a new Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. The committee is working on two versions of the draft: one version is in the Parliament (reg. No. 1233), and the second one is processed by the working group under the President of Ukraine.
As reported, the committee shall scrutinize more than 100 bills and draft resolutions during the eighth session.
