In the interview to Chernivtsi regional television and radio broadcasting company, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko stated that formation of the budget for 2012 is on top of the agenda of the autumn political season. The draft budget should correct at least two deficiencies.
According to the Deputy Chairman, the first deficiency is funding of the humanitarian sector, as "in 2011, healthcare, education, physical culture, sports and tourism were underfinanced."
Another critical deficiency is a cut-down in the financial support of the local self-government and local projects. According to the politician, it will indicate whether the authorities are still willing to liquidate the local self-government and representative authorities as such.
