The bill (Reg.
No.8659) determines the status of Sea Memorial; adopts their register; sets the
boundaries of their national jurisdiction; bans any activity (except research)
within the objects of underwater cultural heritage with this status. The goal
of the bill is to protect and preserve the objects of underwater cultural
heritage (civil and military ships of World War II), conferring the special
status of Sea Memorial on them.
The parliamentarians resolved to recommend the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to adopt the bill as a basis despite the expressed remarks to the method of problem-solving.
