After the Constitutional Court of Ukraine ruled the use of the Victory Banner together with the State Flag of Ukraine during the official events unconstitutional, the primary task is to prevent further confrontations in the society.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the foregoing statement in the interview to Rada television channel.
"I am worried about the possible response to the judgment of the Constitutional Court rather than about the judgment itself," V. Lytvyn stated.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada called against giving this matter a political coloring. "The primary task is to prevent confrontations in the society. Use of any banners, the Victory Banner in particular, is a matter of conscious political position and any other convictions. However, the banner colors should coincide with the two colors of the State Banner of Ukraine", the Chairman believes.
According to V. Lytvyn, the judgment shall be accepted in a calm manner, since it is not open to appeal.
