Ukraine is willing to establish an active political dialogue with Mongolia and foster mutually beneficial cooperation.

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the foregoing statement, meeting President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj.

V.Lytvyn stated that the visit of the highly distinguished guest is a momentous event in the present-day Ukrainian-Mongolian relations. "Our visit will foster the contacts on the supreme level and realize the potential of cooperation," he stated. V.Lytvyn deems necessary to develop bilateral economic, humanitarian and international relations.

 

V.Lytvyn stated that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is interested in fostering contacts with the State Great Khural of Mongolia. He believes that exchange of the official visits between the Heads of Parliaments will boost implementation of mutual arrangements and yield practical results.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine suggested organizing exchange visits of the parliamentary delegations of Ukraine and Mongolia, and establishing contacts between the specialized committees of the parliaments. V.Lytvyn also informed about establishment of the parliamentary group of friendship between Ukraine and Mongolia.

 

The parties deem necessary to boost trade-economic, scientific-technological, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

 

V.Lytvyn expects that the visit of the Mongolian President will boost bilateral cooperation in the educational sphere and between the academies of sciences of Ukraine and Mongolia.

 

In his turn, the President of Mongolia stressed that his country is a reliable partner of Ukraine, while bilateral relations maintain a ‘friendly´ character.

 

Mr Tsakhia Elbegdorj informed about the outcome of high-level negotiations in Kyiv, further to which several inter-governmental agreements and protocols were signed.

 

According to the President of Mongolia, the State Great Khural of Mongolia is ready to offer legislative support to the development of Ukrainian-Mongolian cooperation.
